- Føroyingar kunnu gleða seg til nýggja grindafilmin hjá Mike Day, The Islands and the Whales, sigur Knút Háberg Eysturstein úr Edinburgh í kvøld.

Hann er í skotska høvuðsstaðnum saman við leikstjóranum Mike Day, Pál Weihe, arbeiðsmedisinara, sum er við í filminum, konuni Sáru og bólkinum Sakaris, sum telur Sakaris Emil Joensen, Per I. Højgaard Petersen og Knút sjálvan. Analogu myndina omanfyri tók pápi Mike, George Day.

- The Islands and the Whales er ein visuelt og frásagnarliga hugbindandi filmur við grindadrápi sum reyðum tráði.

Innan evropeisku frumsýningina, hevur filmurin The Islands and the Whales bara verið vístur í Norðuramerika, har hann fekk góð ummæli. Fremsta kanadiska tíðarritið fyri heimildarfilm, Point of View Magazine í Toronto, hefti seg við brúktu mynda- og ljóðtøknina hjá Mike Day:
Day captures the awesome visual power of the land as sweeping cinematography shows the Faroe Islands shrouded in mist and suspended in time. The film gains impressive access to the community, which proves particularly advantageous for obtaining footage of the whale hunt (rather graphic, though) and the harvesting of sea birds atop the ragged cliffs of the island. The real giant within The Islands and the Whales, however, is its phenomenal sound design, which uses Dolby Atmos audio to capture the full richness of the island landscape. The immersive aural tracks let the wind blow and the birds squawk as the film depicts a land worth preserving. The soundtrack affords a sense of being present on the Faroe Islands and right in the thick of the fight.
London Film News, sum skrivar um nýggja tøkni í filmi, sigur í sambandi við evropeisku frumsýnignina, at: This is a film that you stand back and wonder at the commitment and artistry of the film-making. - “This is the real life” as one fisherman says in the trailer. A film about pollution, about ethics, about people and about the changing world we live in. At enda staðfestir London Film News, at plakatin hjá Mike Day er Movie Poster of the year so far.

Natalie Usher, sum er stjóri í Film & Media í Creative Scotland, sigur í tíndaskrivi undan skotsku filmstevnuni, at "EIFF is a key event in Scotland's cultural calendar, offering audiences inspirational, world class cinema. With debut features like Graeme Maley's thriller Pale Star and Mike Day's breathtaking documentary The Islands and the Whales, screening alongside Jason Connery's powerfully moving Tommy's Honour and wickedly entertaining animation from the duo Will Anderson and Ainslie Henderson, EIFF is recognising and celebrating the wealth and depth of home-grown filmmaking talent supported by Creative Scotland."

The Islands and the Whales verður sýndur í Føroyum í næstum.
